After a period of eager anticipation, Dave has officially announced his highly awaited third album The Boy Who Played the Harp, released on October 24. Fans can now order the album through The Record Hub.
A New Chapter from One of Britain’s Finest Storytellers
Widely regarded as one of the most captivating storytellers of his generation, Dave’s announcement signals the beginning of an exciting new era in his artistry. The news follows an impressive run of achievements for the multi award winning musician, whose previous two albums Psychodrama and We’re All Alone in This Together both topped the charts and received critical acclaim.
Record Breaking Success
The Boy Who Played the Harp marks Dave’s first full length release since 2023. That year, his collaboration with Central Cee, Sprinter, broke the record for the longest running number one rap record in UK chart history. This success followed his 2022 single Starlight, which became the longest running number one solo UK track and the first UK number one written and produced solely by one artist in eight years.
Dave’s last album, We’re All Alone in This Together, released in July 2021, solidified his place as one of the most important voices in modern British music. The album recorded over 74,000 first week sales, the biggest for any genre in two years at the time, and the largest UK rap record in more than a decade. Within three weeks it had achieved gold certification and later went on to become his second platinum record.
The Boy Who Played the Harp
Details of the new project are being closely guarded, but if history is any indication, The Boy Who Played the Harp promises to continue Dave’s tradition of deeply personal and socially conscious storytelling. His past work has blended introspection with sharp social commentary, earning him praise for both lyrical depth and musical innovation.
Fans can expect another powerful and honest exploration of life, identity, and artistry from one of Britain’s most distinctive voices.
