Paul McCartney’s Man on the Run – Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack will be released on 27 February alongside the new documentary chronicling the rise of Paul McCartney and Wings in the 1970s.

The album brings together 12 tracks from across the Wings era, including a previously unreleased rough mix of “Arrow Through Me” and a live version of “Live and Let Die (Rockshow)”.

Man on the Run

The soundtrack accompanies Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, a new feature documentary directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville. The film explores McCartney’s career following The Beatles’ breakup and traces the rise of Wings throughout the 1970s.

Through archival footage, photographs by Linda McCartney and new interviews with Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, former Wings members and collaborators, the documentary examines a transformative decade in McCartney’s career.

Man on the Run – Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack gathers recordings from Paul McCartney and Wings, capturing the breadth of their creativity during the 1970s.

In addition to recognised classics, the album includes:

• “Arrow Through Me (Rough Mix)” – a previously unreleased mix from the 1979 Back to the Egg sessions

• “Live and Let Die (Rockshow)” – taken from the 1980 concert film

• “Gotta Sing Gotta Dance” – originally featured in the 1973 The James Paul McCartney TV Special

Each vinyl edition includes a Man on the Run poster.

The artwork was developed with creative direction by Paul McCartney and Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell of Hipgnosis, with design by Peter Curzon of Storm Studios.

Film Release

Paul McCartney: Man on the Run will stream globally on Prime Video from 27 February.

Speaking about the film, director Morgan Neville described it as a portrait of McCartney navigating the long shadow of The Beatles while forging his own voice during the Wings era.
