Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers' 'Free For All' was perhaps the band's most potent album. Recorded in February 1964 the music bristled with the charged energy of the civil rights movement with a powerful sextet line-up featuring the great drummer with Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton & Reggie Workman. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
