The fourth studio album by the American rock duo, originally released in April 2003. Produced by vocalist and guitarist Jack White, it continues the 'back-to-basics' approach from the band's previous album 'White Blood Cells' (2001), foregoing computers and utilizing gear no more recent than 1963. It was mostly recorded across two weeks at Toe Rag Studios in April and May 2002, and features lyrics about the 'death of the sweetheart' in American popular culture.
